Communal Printing

IMB offers communal Ricoh printers for use by staff/visitors on all floors; there is also a single large unit available on level 4 west for high volume printing such as flyers.

Print jobs are charged at a set rate across the building, taking into account the impression type, quantity and lease/maintenance costs. These charges are invoiced to each group on a monthly basis. Monthly usage reports for lab heads are available upon request.

Individual Printers

Some groups or departments run bespoke printing units to serve specific purposes; all costs including procurement and consumables is covered directly by the group or department. External group/staff members are not able to print to these devices.

Printer Naming Convention

All communal printers conform to a common naming convention to keep things simple. All staff/visitors are able to print to any communal printer in the building; even if you are situated on a different floor.

What does it mean?

Large Format Printing

Printing an A0 poster at a print shop is typically hundreds of dollars, but here at the IMB we are fortunate to have an A0 Poster Printer on‐site.  Located across from Level 6 lift, this service is available for use by UQ Staff and Students for a small fee to cover costs. IMB IT will not edit your print job although we may provide advise regarding required formatting modifications before printing. We will only accept PDF or TIFF formats although we would prefer PDFs. Where do I get my poster printed?

IMB IT's Service Desk is located on level 6, opposite the lifts, of the Queensland Bioscience Precinct (Building 80 St Lucia). QBP is located opposite of the Chancellor's Place Bus Stops.

Forms

Non-IMB UQ Staff & Students paying via a RISQ form should contact us with a valid return email BEFORE bringing the poster to IMB IT. We will send you the appropriate form which needs to be signed by your faculty's financial delegate. This is required before we can printer your poster.
