IMB IT have chosen to standardise the the IT fleet as much as possible using suppliers selected from the existing whole of government agreement QGCPO861-12. Apple suppliers are currently not on this agreement.

Windows and Linux hardware

Our hardware supplier of choice is Dell Australia Pty Ltd. IMB IT have chosen Dell as their primary supplier of Windows and *nix based systems due to their proven service track record. IMB IT maintains a number of Dell SOE software images for computer deployment allowing us to provide you with a computer within a minimal timeframe. If you order a Dell computer you can usually expect the following service:

• Delivery within 2 weeks
• Repairs within 2 business days
• Competitive pricing
• Rapid quoting

Apple hardware

Our hardware supplier of choice is currently Geekworks. IMB IT maintain a Mac SOE software image for quick deployment once hardware has been received. When ordering a Mac you can usually expect the following service:

• Delivery within 4 weeks
• Repairs within 2-4 business days
• Competitive Apple pricing
• Rapid quoting

What software is available to me?

Printer hardware

IMB IT currently maintain a leasing arrangement with Fuji Xerox for our large communal style printers that are found upon each wing and floor of the Institute. For smaller office printers we generally source HP laser black and white laser printers through Data#3. IMB IT prefers to use these hardware vendors due to our software SOE containing the appropriate printer drivers.
